Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
A front view camera detects lane markers and road edges helping prevent unintentional lane departures. When the vehicle strays from its lane (or road), the system sets off a visual and sound alarm and automatically steer the vehicle to prevent it from moving out of its lane (or road).

Lane Following Assist (LFA)
Helps detect lane markers on the road with a front view camera on the front windshield, and assists the driver’s steering to help keep the vehicle centered between lanes.

When it detects a vehicle in your lane ahead, it automatically slows your vehicle down while maintaining a safe distance with the vehicle ahead, and can even bring your IONIQ to a complete stop without driver input.

7-airbag system

Seven airbags provide the ultimate safeguard should the unexpected ever happen. Sitting in the front row are a pair of front airbags joined by a pair of side airbags for thorax protection with the driver getting additional shielding from a knee airbag. To defend against side collisions, full-length curtain airbags provide front and second row occupants with head protection.

Safety power window controls

For extra safety, sensors automatically lower the windows by 150 mm upon detecting any obstructions in the frame.
